Established in 1979, the Portage Senior Center (PSC) is the first nationally accredited senior center in the state of Michigan. It is a vital, busy place offering a variety of services and activities that change with the needs and desires of its members. The mission of the Portage Senior Center is to provide, with the help of its members, information and a range of services, activities and volunteer opportunities that promote personal growth, health, friendship and independence for area persons over the age of 50. The Center, located at 320 Library Lane in the heart of Portage, is conveniently near Portage City Hall, senior housing, Portage District Library and the popular Portage Creek Bicentennial Trail. The Center is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and evenings and weekends as scheduled.
