Description:The popular parks protect the sensitive environment of the Portage Creek basin and offer residents many opportunities to enjoy the creek and surrounding environment.
Whether your seasonal favorite is listening to a summer starlight symphony with friends and family, or ice skating with the kids in winter, the City of Portage has opportunities throughout the year. The park system includes the Celery Flats Historical Area, West Lake Nature Preserve, Bishop's Bog, Schrier Park, Liberty Park, Veterans Memorial Park, Ramona Park, Lakeview Park, Central Park, South Westnedge Park, and more! Click here for a detailed map of park locations and activities. The Sounds of Spring The Sounds of Spring camp will be held at Schrier Park, 850 Osterhout Road between Oakland Drive and South Westnedge Avenue, for all area children currently in grades 1, 2, & 3. Hey, children what’s that sound? Everybody look what’s going down - the tree. In the woods we hear the birds before we see them. During this camp we will explore the sounds of nature and learn who makes what sounds, and what all that noise means. Discover how we can use sound to attract wildlife and how animals hear and make sound. Registration: Please register online at www.KNCCamp.org or call 269-381-1574 ext. 0.
