HISTORY OF HALL HOUSE As you walk through our front door and into the spacious front hall the Italian marble, Detroit Pewabic tile and ceiling artwork are some of the signs that you're in for a special stay. Prominent contractor Henry L. Vander Horst built Hall House in 1923 as his private residence. He and his wife Lizzie lived here for 25 years.
Additional features of this home are the Honduras Mahogany woodwork, domed living room ceiling, and the original light fixtures in the dining room, VanderHorst and Rutherford Room. Today, visitors can still enjoy the Georgian Revival home's exceptional craftsmanship. VanderHorst also left his distinctive mark on the city's historic State Theater, The Rose Street Market, and the legendary Marlborough Apartments. Contact Information:
